Who Can Report?
Parents, guardians, students, teachers, school employees, volunteers, and community members can report suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect.
You do not need proof of abuse to make a report when you have reasonable cause to suspect it.
Reporting Procedures for School Employees
- Immediately report known or suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect to the Florida DCF Abuse Hotline.
- Notify the appropriate school administrator as permitted by law and applicable school procedures, without delaying the mandatory DCF report.
- Cooperate with authorized investigations while maintaining student confidentiality.
- Report suspected educator misconduct affecting student health, safety, or welfare through the school's designated reporting procedures.
Important: Reporting concerns to a school administrator does not replace the legal obligation to report suspected child abuse directly to DCF.
Protection for Individuals Who Report
Florida law provides protections for individuals who report suspected child abuse in good faith. New Life Charter Academy supports good-faith reporting and prohibits retaliation consistent with applicable law and school policy.
Our Commitment
If you see something, say something. Every child deserves to feel safe, protected, and supported.
New Life Charter Academy takes all reports of suspected abuse and employee misconduct seriously and will follow applicable Florida reporting requirements.
