Parent Grievance Procedure
Grievance Process
At New Life Charter Academy, we value open communication and a strong partnership between families and the school. If a parent disagrees with a school rule, policy, practice, or decision, we encourage them to follow the grievance procedure outlined below to seek resolution.
Step 1: Submit Your Concern
Parents should submit their concern in writing to the Principal within seven (7) school days of the incident.
If the Principal is unavailable or the parent believes it would be inappropriate to contact the Principal, the concern may be submitted directly to the Board Representative.
Step 2: Principal Review
The Principal will:
- Review the concern.
- Consult with appropriate school administration if necessary.
- Respond during a discussion or within seven (7) school days of receiving the written concern.
- Document the decision.
Step 3: Appeal to the Board Representative
If the issue remains unresolved, parents may submit the concern in writing to the Board Representative within seven (7) school days of the Principal's response.
The Board Representative will:
- Review and consider the grievance.
- Determine, together with the Principal, whether the matter can be resolved at the school level or requires action by the Board.
- Provide a written response within seven (7) school days.
➕ Request to Address the Board
Parents may request that an item be placed on the Board meeting agenda at any time. To do so, submit a written request to the Board Representative at least 24 hours before the scheduled Board meeting.
🤝 Our Commitment
While every concern may not result in a resolution that satisfies everyone, New Life Charter Academy believes that respectful communication and mutual understanding are essential to maintaining a strong partnership between families and the school community.
